Parent and Family Newsletter
The Parent and Family Newsletter provides families of current Brown University students with a glimpse of life on campus – both inside and outside the classroom. The newsletter is emailed directly to parents and guardians of enrolled undergraduates throughout the academic year and includes information about resources, projects, events, and important dates.

BrownAlert System
During emergency situations, the University will deliver alerts and instructions to Brown community members via mobile phones and other communications platforms. Students should provide their mobile phone number in Banner for use during emergencies. Families can visit Brown’s Emergency Information website for information in the event of an emergency or inclement weather affecting campus safety.
Email and Direct Messages
Offices and centers across Brown, including Health Services and Residential Life, will share important and time-sensitive updates directly with students. Professors, departments, and University staff will communicate directly with students. Students are responsible for regularly monitoring these messages and sharing them with families as needed.
Newsletters and Social Media
Many departments, offices and centers develop newsletters for the Brown community and post regularly on social media. Students and families can subscribe directly to newsletters and find accounts on Brown’s social media directory.

An email digest delivered daily to all Brown students, faculty, and staff contains curated information about upcoming events, announcements, and opportunities. Students, faculty and staff must log in to view Today@Brown and manage preferences.
